Tubes were fail yesterday so I’m bring you your videyo today. And its totally worth it.
Classixx just released a video for one of my favorite party songs “Cold Act Ill,” but the footage is anything but new. Check out the old school skateboarding and let the summertimes roll.
This funky upbeat video from UK group BPA (The Brighton Port Authority) features Dizzee Rascal and David Byrne, and a very clever use of censor bars. Kinda not worksafe, eh?
If you ever read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (or the movie, FTL), there is a certain section about a whale that just happens to be, and describes its journey to the end. In Douglas Adam’s novel, the whale’s journey is innocent and play-by-play; he’s so busy taxonomizing his surroundings to notice his demise is the green ground that he’s so eager to name.
But what if, what if you knew the end of your life, and could see it? What if you knew you only had a short time to live? How would you live it? This struggle has been told over and over, but this time, as a sentient meteor in the digital short Fallen.
Eli turned me on to Ratatat during one of his self important rants where i was inclined to pay attention; I’m glad I did. The NYC Electronic duo has been turning up beats since around 2004, and they’ve been on tour with Bjork, Daft Punk, Interpol, and CSS among others. Their sound is upbeat and purely instrumental, a type suited for walking down a sunny street, or as soundtrack for a mellow indie house party, involving Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Their Latest release, “LP3,” is slated for July, with the single “shiller” released on 7″ vinyl. Here’s the latest release, the unofficial video for “Mirando”, an video mashup of Predator, created by band member Evan Mast.
What do you do when you have a decommissioned Showbiz Pizza Place Animatronics setup lying around? You program it to play Usher and scare a lot of kids…
Weezer is coming out with a new album and their first new single, “Pork and Beans” features a video filled with youtube stars of various talents and happenstances. Its pretty Awesome.. Chris Crocker, mouthing the lyrics… FTW.
These three young girls were merely grooving along to the hi fideilty of the Best Buy satellite radio display when the white man had to show up and ruin the party. Please note, it appears he was a Geek Squad employee.
“Alice” is an electronic song created 90% of audio pieces taken from the movie “Alice in Wonderland.” The accompanying video features clever editing from the movie and takes you on an adventure true to the original. Music/video remixes are all well and good, but the impressive part is that the composer is a 19 year old from Australia.
Stream/download the song here, watch the video on youtube.
Pogo (or as he calls himself on last.fm) put together a few other songs into an EP called “Wonderland.” They are all equally good, just no video for them… yet.
I think I inadvertently became a Nikol fanboy… which is cool, cause Nikol is like the Molly Wood of sex ed. Anyways Nikol, I’ll do you one better.

Oh Hai! I'm Nate and I live in the sometimes beautiful, always exciting, city of Buffalo, NY. I'm not too focused on this blog, but you'll probably end up reading something about Buffalo, my toy obsession, burly bears, club drama, Google Android, and some damn good music. This is my blog. Read it. Cheers.
