I'm about a week and a half late posting about this, but John gifted me this amazing new print from Amanda Visell for Christmas. Amanda Visell really pwned 2008 with her hop skip and a jump from painting -> wood -> resin -> vinyl. While a lot of artist do this, Amanda keeps her wood and brushstroke style congruent among all mediums.
"Weatherbot" is a winterscene, featuring a enormungo robot with the ability to control the skies. The townsfolk appear to be gathering around, Gulliver Travels style, in attempts to thwart the metal monstrosity. Limited, signed, and numbered at 50 prints, by Amanda Visell.
PS - Giclee is the stupidest name for any printed technique. it even pronounces lame: "zee-clay." However it produces amazingly accurate prints.

Christmas by Color is
"A not-for-profit exploration into the colours that shape our Christmas. Frustrated at the plethora of Christmas reds, whites and greens those pesky designers at Raw Design Studio are exploring what colours people really associate with their Christmas."
Created by the folks at
raw, CBC is like those funky crayola colors (Mac and cheese FTW!), but totally for grown up (at least in body form) designers. You can purchase an A1 poster, and it comes with free wrapping paper, for £10.00. All proceeds head to Calm, and yes this is a limited print of 500 (just how I like it).
Buy one for me (
and Beth from Hero) starting today.

I fell off the map for a few days. It happens, I had it coming. I say "fell" because it wasn't intentional. First, the weekend blundered, Monday and Tuesday were consumed with social events that did no good but waste time and lower my immune system. Wednesday and Thursday were spent in bed with a fever, body fatigue and chills. But today is Friday. A good day, cause its the start of Christmas vacation! At work, nothing really gets done, i get lots of gaudy gifts and a popcorn tin, hopefully I won't be forced into wearing the elf suit again:

I hate getting sick, more so now because I've turned into a workaholic. I've managed to ignore every bit of christmas cheer up till now, and gifting has been nothing more than a nonchalant with-recipient after-purchase hand-off. Doesn't mean I don't care, I just don't care for the pomp this year. I don't have time. It's totally my fault and I'm sick because I forgot to relax this holiday season, and I should make the time. I'm not even going down to see my folks, we are postponing everything till February.
- /Film: I live down the street from LucasFilm, and I’ve even been in the facilities in The Presidio, but I’m not on the LucasFilm Holiday Card List. For the last 30 years, Lucasfilm has created special holiday greeting cards for its employees and business partners.
And what did ya know that almost all of them were Star Wars themed? I've posted the 2007 version, featuring a choral group of storm troopers. Now if each one is a a clone, doesn't that mean they will all sound the same? hmm...
Check out the rest over at

Yep, its pert near Christmas Time. Hows about a little christmas classic, just with a bit more flair and inappropriateness. Featuring the loverly Jackie Beat.

Part one of the homo-ness that has come to be expected of me and exerted upon my work population, almost per request, is my addiction to overpriced Starbucks items. I understand Starbucks does not neccesarily scream "fag!" but when you have a custom Starbucks flower arrangement, the rest falls into place. Made by someone I knew who combined his servitude to the *bucks with his previous career as a flower arranger, he only made a few of these to auction off. Mine was a "gift." The Starbucks Advent Calendar just seemed so commercially ridiculous and expensive that I had to have it. I go to a different staff member each day to let them open and take the truffle inside.

Every season the mug of choice changes, and always from Starbucks. The mainstay mug is a 20oz paper cup replica, with my favorite drink recipe scribbled on the side. I had a bright summer mug, but one morning got the best of me before i could get my coffee and the mug shattered. I died a bit on the inside.
Right now, I'm rockin the peppermint shorty. For Christ's sakes its only 16 ounces small and yet the cafeteria lady still bitches about how it holds a half pot of coffee... I've warned her I will break out the 24 ounce if she keeps it up.
Now, if you look closely in that last picture, you notice that the actual coffee I drink? Its from Wilson farms. Its all about apearances, darling.
