Google has kept a loose eye on their Android mascot, applying a creative commons license to the little guy, allowing artists and fans to go wild with their creations… I’ve seen little bits of schwag here and there, but nothing compares to the complete set of awesomeness that Andrew Bell cooked up…

Created in collaboration with Google and Android Andrew Bell, and produced by Dyzplastic Production, this is the first official blind box series featuring everyone’s favorite open source mascot.  Series 1 features 12 different designs in a case of 16 and each vinyl figure stands just 3″ tall. There’s no word on pricing or exactly when these will drop, but a splash page on the Dead Zebra site shows “02:10:20:10″ which leads me to believe they go on sale at DZ on the tenth of February.

DKE Toys are the wholesale distributor for the series, one of Hero Design’s sources for vinyl crack; I should be able to sweet talk them into ordering a case or three.

Based off of Andrew Bell’s Never Look Back print from a few years ago, O-No Sushi is a cute and scrumptious vinyl set. Showcasing at SDCC this year, O-No Sushi features a bento box with a poor hapless quadrosquidipus,  severed tentacles on rice, sauce, and XX’d out interchangeable eyes… all guaranteed fresh. I really super enjoy toys where the packaging is as important as the figure itself.

The blue O-No Sushi will be available at the DKE (#4732) and Dumbrella(#1335/1337) booths at SDCC, with a limited run of 150, 30 bucks for the set (totally affordable). The red colorway will be available later in August, both online and offline, distributed by DKE Toys. I’m going to push to get Hero Design Studio to pick them up (well, one for me at least), so drop them a line if you are serious about ordering one, they be your finest DKE dealer in WNY.

And if anyone is going to be at SDCC, and would like to swing by and pick me up a blue Sushi, send me a holler. I will pay $50 for it (shipping included.)
