I haven’t posted an at work lunch picture in a while….

Today’s home punishment is a Banquet 50-cent-at-Latina’s-Special chicken pot pie.

They’re actually not bad… but they go down fast and you shouldn’t look at the sauce too much… where are you Marie Callendar?

Anna Nicole Dies, Just Like Her Son Did.

February 9th, 2007 | 2 Comments | Posted in Those Moments

I actually found out from the Buffalo Beast Rss, which came out of an XML Hibernation to bring me this news…

[Anna Nicole Smith 1967-2007]

Anna had been dealing with severe depression, taking a lot of drugs, and basically giving up on life. This all spurred from Anna’s inability to get over the loss of her then 20 year old son who died from an apparent drug overdose.

Anna was found in her room unconscious Thursday, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Seminole. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

I don’t think it was suicide, or at least a deliberate attempt. I feel Anna just got tired of hanging around, and when you add drugs, more drugs, and a splash of drugs… you die.

Mooninites Strike Fear Into Boston Locals, Turner Broadcasting says Oops!

Bostons Locals and Officials were sent into a terrorism tizzy yesterday as they discovered several strange LED devices stuck up on bridges, walls, and near overpasses. The hunt for what feared to be bombs by someone who watches a little too much adult swim turned out to be just a viral Hoax by Turner Broadcasting. The devices, about the size of a laptop, were LED panels in the shape of Ignignokt and Err, two characters from Adult Swim’s ‘Aquateen Hunger Force. The 40 or so light “bombs”(Officials found only 8, safe to assume fanboys and Turner quickly grabbed the rest) that Turner claims to have been littered around Boston were a part of a multi city “attack.”

Not an Airbursh Big Enough, Says Heff

The sometimes pink, but aways a bitch Kelly Osbourne was most recently denied a chance at centerfold fame in Hugh Heffner’s Playboy. The 80-year Heff had this to say:

“I can’t see it happening somehow - we don’t airbrush to that extent.”

Ouch. But for those that wonder just how it could have turned out, Pretty on the Outside whipped up a nice little example for us…

Oh well, I’m sure if you spent a few months like your brother did, climbing a few rock walls, instead of your usual temper tantrums you might actually have a chance. Speaking of your brother, Jack can pose on my centerfold anytime….

Rocking A Lot More Than the Vote

January 17th, 2007 | 3 Comments | Posted in Those Moments

Yesterday was my birthday, however I don’t mind sharing it with the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr because I normally get a day off. MTV’s Rock the Vote website decided to celebrate the King as well, providing a link to what they thought was an informative website on the Rev’s life. Who would have thought a website with the url of http://www.martinlutherking.org (don’t go there) would be one of hate and hurtful parody of its namesake? They quickly fixed their mistake and issued a grave apology, however I don’t believe the excuse.

Here’s the apology issued from RtVBlog:

Last night, Rock the Vote made a mistake. In honor of Rev. Martin Luther King’s birthday, we created a tribute from the RtV front page, as we have done every year for quite some time. To identify the external link, our webmaster searched Google and chose one of the top results, a website that, at a quick glance, appears to be a tribute to Dr. King with speeches, photos and a special emphasis on the holiday (martinlutherking.org - but don’t go there). But appearances (and, apparently, popular results on Google) are deceptive. The website is a racist site that disrespects Dr. King and insults all of us who cherish his advocacy for justice. On behalf of RtV, I would like to extend our deepest apologies for this mistake. The link was immediately corrected.

The offending website was replaced by http://www.thekingcenter.org, the OFFICIAL website of the Martin Luther King legacy. I searched Google myself and used “Martin Luther King.” Quite assumedly the webmaster used that string as well (I tried a few other strings, but they don’t return the same result scenario that would have caused the confusion). The results came as followed:

Of course, I would look at the namesaked url first, who wouldn’t? However, even a few seconds of viewing and the quality of the website would alert me to something. This is why tabs were invented; I’d open up the first three links that looked promising, and then go with the correct one, which even from viewing the meta data (says “OFFICIAL WEBSITE,” not meaning it should be believed immediately, but looks more enticing) you’d probably have no trouble deciding that thekingcenter.org was the winner.

All in all, the apology was sincere. I know they messed up; but oh man, this was not a case of “Google fed me a bad link.” This is another example of piss-poor searching methods by someone who should have spent a few seconds more on his job.

I found the Past

January 17th, 2007 | 2 Comments | Posted in Those Moments

After a wonderful 4-day weekend with my Family, I’m back home. I spent quality time with family, met old friends, and of course, dug around my old workstation upstairs. About two years ago, I was neck deep in a network of my creation called razyr.com. I had a tech blog, a forum, hosted blogs for others, and offered design resources for other forums and blogs.
