[ The top 6 search engines that refer me ]

Every now and then, i look at my re.invigorate stats to see what fun searches have led unsuspecting surfer to my blog… here’s some of the latest referrals.

  • “tr_knight” -my most recent search referral, it seems that TR Knight has a few fans in Turkey, and my one post on the guy warrants a nummer two listing under a gay pride site. ›› view post
  • scum white - I don’t know if its because someone else was interested in the shirt that I bought for the black party… but the interconnection was nice seeing that krudmart was at the top, where I bought the shirt, and two pages away I get a click too. ›› view post (referred to main page)
  • “‘what i’ve done’ screencaps - One of at least three searches for the new linkin park single post. I get no comments ever, but I know posting screen caps and lyrics are always sure to get people to stop by… however search referrals from India tend to scare me and make me check my security over… *side note.. India has a shitty internet connection I’ve been told… ›› view post
  • “stupid things to do in the dollar store - a priceless search… who knew that dollar store hunting was a popular sport? ›› view post
  • “chubby chasers gay - I’m not a chubby chaser.. though thats my “label” in the community… I don’t have a fat fetish.. I’m just greedy… i want more bang for my buck… when you date a bigger, hairier guy, you get a free pillow and you’ll never be cold in bed. It does have a downside I guess… I’ve managed to acquire a slight hernia from the “intimacies” that me and Grumpy Bear share. ›› view post
  • buffawhat - when people search for your name, it means they’ve heard about you… and when the search comes from Canada… You become an international rock star… I’m serious.. I have a studded belt and everything now… ›› referred to homepage

Busy like your mom…

April 9th, 2007 | 1 Comment | Posted in Those Moments

First off, I hope everyone’s favorite misconstrued holiday(hint: bunnies, eggs, and some dead dude) went over well.. Mine was spent in denial of the event, finishing God of War II (great game, can’t wait for #3 on the PS3) while the Grumpy Bear played dollhouse, under the guise that he was playing the Sims2. For some reason, my character kept burning the ramen… an event I was notified of every fifteen minutes, much to Grumpy Bear’s glee.

Oh one more effin thing on the whole Easter thing…. I found out what a Lamb Butter was this weekend… and I’m not happy about it…

Mind you, there is no Polish in me (though I have been in some Polish before) and any Easter tradition I ever had was getting up at six-effin-fifteen in the morning to go to our church’s sunrise service, after the easter egg hunt to find money to give as tithe… oh and a new Bible.

So all my sheltered life, I’ve gone thinking a Lamb Butter was some delacacy; maybe a rich, succulent, butter filled lamb shank.  Or even better, maybe some tiny baby lamb, butter-fed till its sweet and juicy… Imagine my horror, disgust, and sheer disbelief to find out a Lamb Butter is… Butter.

Things are moving swiftly in the WNYMedia camp… Can’t give you details, but I promise there is a good reason that I’ve been a bit distant from the blog…  which brings me to another half-assed apology that I’m a stupid half-wit blogger that doesn’t deserve the love and affection he gets from all 15 of his readers..

Ok, that all done… here’s some news…

  • Apple just sold 100 Million iPods, - proof that tiny step upgrades and shiny white plastic makes millions.
  • Media Temple Launches Grid Container - geek stuff, but it means I’m 20 bucks poorer a month for a service that should fix the mySQL issues I’ve had… meaning buffawhat.com should load faster…. I’m still skeptical…
  • Club Marcellas Blackout Party on the 13th - Lights go out at Midnight or One, and the night continues lit only by the light of glowstick.. special blacklight drag show as well.. I have to be there.. so come get molestered in the dark!

Jeebus, I hate confrontations

March 28th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Those Moments

Plain and simple. If you are the person directly involved in signing my check, and you come to talk to me, don’t expect a lively conversation. Its just how I am…

The executive director of our agency just paid me a visit… It’s after 4( means I’m not getting paid to be here), and I’m piddling around on the computer. Immediately, the death chills come over me and my face lights on fire.

Its no big deal; I’m not in trouble. In fact, the purpose of the visit was to apologize for the disconnection I’ve received from the agency as a result of my direct supervisor, Susan leaving house. Doesn’t matter, agency issues and the”she signs my check” aspect of her renders me a complete mess. Nothing like bursting into tears mind you, thats only to get out of speeding tickets.

The nervousness should go away… as with Susan gone, I’ve been bumped into dealing with more of the higher ups on a direct level. Eh, if you are going to run a program, you have to be prepared to talk to the uppers. I should prolly just buck up.

Spring Update!

March 27th, 2007 | 2 Comments | Posted in Those Moments

So with Spring here (and my nipple rings no longer giving me frostbite), it’s time to give a clue to the new growths and happenings with buffawhat.

Snap! - I’ve just recently reached and surpassed the 100th Snap (thanks Bobbie Lee for the ein hundreth!)… this is a great project, and I never thought I’d get so much participation from it. My only wish is that the cameraphone I use is a bit better. I still have my eye on the Nokia n93i, but the 800 dollar pricetag sucks,,, me needs a sugardaddy, or perhaps a few good donations? I’ll be making the snap interface a little more involved to keep the spammers away and to let me know who’s snapping me.

365 on Flickr - Jeff from AlreadyBruised asked me to join him in the obligatory 365 days of flickr project… I’m a day late and a dollar short, but it started today and should be fun. I’m hesitant to add it to the blog (would be overkill of photos), so I may just upload directly to flickr, and you can see it from my photopage.

A Merge - This part has fuzzy details, but with WNYmedia.net launching the new site in about six weeks, and the whole awesome online radio station, I’ll be doing a lot more with them in the future. I will probably split my content up and keep the original buffawhat for the fans, but with a move over to wnymedia, I’ll be bringing a lot more readersome content… which brings me to the next spot…

More readersome content! - I’ve been slack lately, with the Snap project keeping the feeds alive… Not anymore. I’ll be ramping up with my original plans of being Buffalo’s unique source for technology and gadget news with a dash of queer culture. This should take more shape as I figure out what I’m doing and going to look like on WNYmedia’s lineup.

More to come and a little design nudges underway… I’d like to send a big thanks out to the readers that I have and a big apology to the readers I lost for the major slack in my blogging responsibilities.

Blue Man comes to HSBC on Thursday, not Tuesday

March 20th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Those Moments

bmgticket.jpg

From a chat with the grumpy Bear over a month ago:

Me: BlueMan is coming to HSBC on March 22…
GrumpyBear: ooh
Me: Wanna go? Tickets are 100 bucks each..
GrumpyBear: Who do we gotta blow?
Me: No one, you just have to be nice to me
GrumpyBear: forget it

So, I got the tickets. I wanted it to be special, however its never a good idea to suprise the grumpy bear because he has a unique ability to foil most anything. So, I told him he was going… that he didn’t have to spend a dime or do anything. The only thing I did was pound into him that on March 20, a Tuesday, he better be frickin off work and ready to be there at 7:00, or I’d cut his nuts off.

Everything was planned; dinner if we had time, and if work cut it close, I’d just meet Mike at the resturant and we’d walk to the HSBC Center together. Tuesday, at 7:00. Tuesday, Tuestday, Tuesday. I looked at the tickets, I checked dates, everywhere I looked and everytime I mentioned it: Blue Man Group on March 20, a Tuesday.

Mike calls me up last Friday to tell me its Thursday.

Oops.

Now he tells me that he might not be out of work in time on Thursday. I remind him that his testicles are in danger of castration, and he reminds me that I’m an idiot. I know he wants to go, I got the tickets for him, all of this for him. Mike likes chaos; it wouldn’t be an enjoyable evening for him unless I’m freaking out that he’ll be late, or might not make it.

Did I ever mention how much I love him?

I don’t know what made me bugger the date, I have a tendancy to mess up at least one major detail when it comes to planning important things.

So, Mike, you’re going mother fucker, like it or not. Be ready by 6:30 or your ass is mine (isn’t it anyways?).

Homesick

March 6th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Those Moments

Its headlines like this that make me wish I was back in the South… sort of.

Meth lab found in bag

PIKEVILLE — A trash bag found along the roadside outside of Pikeville Thursday contained more than garbage. Inside was the equipment to manufacture methamphetamine.

At about a quarter after noon, inmates from the Wayne County Jail were cleaning up trash along the northbound on-ramp of U.S. 117 just on the edge of town when they stumbled upon a large, black trash bag, Pikeville police Chief Ken Barrett said.

As they were pulling it up with their rakes, the bag tore open and inside were the remains of a meth lab….

…”You think of a lab as a great big room with all this stuff, but it’s not all that complicated. A meth lab this size could have been stored in the trunk of a car.”…

…He added that finding the bag wasn’t particularly surprising, but admitted it was a little bit different.

“I know it’s not much — a plastic bag in the grass,” Barrett said. “But I guess that’s what you’ve got to look for sometimes — a plastic bag in the grass.”

via - Goldsboro News Argus

Gotta love it… I remember being the chemistry nut in HS, and getting so many requests to help my buddies make meth labs… Sure I could have done it.. I mean geez.. You really can fit it all in a hefty bag… but something about the going to jail forever part and blowing yourselve to bits risk kinda put the stops to it.

Meth in NC is like what blow is to NY… They say it’s better than Trimspa and you’ll never have to sleep again.
