Fancy an Anus?

05.21.2008 @ 1:31 PM in Lifestream
Well too bad, cause they are sold out till May 26th, you sick bastards.
For us, producing hand made chocolates is an art. The art of producing our chocolates with the utmost care, in true tradition of Belgian craftsmanship. These chocolates are created with one thing on our mind: to produce a combination of taste and touch that takes you to chocolate anus heaven.
Chocolate. Anus. Heaven. Look about the site, and you'll see a special Solid Silver (55grams) edition, for the low low price of £235. I do wonder if they'll make a cream filled editon, for the felchers among us.

Bandits Take a Championship, I take pictures.

I'll leave the sports coverage to Andy, but I wanna thank him giving me the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing affair. Running out on the field, bumping into very sweaty, adrenaline filled lacrosse players... dodging ESPN crews... pretty awesome.  I was a little hesitant to go and get my shots; I'm not used to press photography, or for that matter, much photography at all. I basically followed the pack and focused on the few players I knew were important. The Bandits 2008 MVP (which I got to cast a vote for) Steenhuis was pretty easy to spot, he sports bright orange Reeboks. I took some video too for WNYMedia, but I have absolutely no idea what Marc is doing with it. Hopefully he'll put the mess of cloverfield-esque footage into something awesome.. like he always does. I also decided to take advantage of the new Animoto service to make a little video below. Animoto is a web based photo montage service that uses a pretty sophisticated AI to arrange your photos into a music video, complete with beat matching and top of the line special effects. the service is free for 30 second clips; full length videos that you can dl are $3 a pop, or $30 for a year. Use this referral link and you can get a year membership for only $25.

I ♥ Amazon, A2DP, and Molly Wood

05.16.2008 @ 3:31 PM in Lifestream
So Treeson is a camera whore today... I ordered me a pair of the Motorola MotoROKR S9 StereoBluetooth Headset from Amazon.com yesterday. Normally, they sell fro $129.00, but amazon had them for a near half off 68 bucks.. I decided to take the discount and get next day shipping, because I live for instant gratification... I had debated ordering these before, simply because when I first got the shadow, I was like.. sweet! i can play music on it, now all I need are some dope headphones... then I realized.. wait.. I have an iPod with dope headhones already, stop your madness Nate... Now, one of the dynamics that John and I posses that keeps our dar away relationship alive is our love of tech. We love discussing the latest gadget or tech issue, but out method of consumption is slightly different. John almost primarily listens to CNET podcasts, with the occasional blog being mine, Kotaku, and Destructiod, whereas I get all of my media from Google Reader and my 100+ RSS subs. To help harmonize, I've taken to listening to podcast, and I'm using a WinMo freeware app called BeyondPod to download and manage my podcasts. That once again puts me in the position to be listening to audio on my phone and I simply won't stand to be wired to that damned Shadow. Nuff said, I welcome the S9's into my tech arsenal. The MOTOROKR's are low profile, wrap behind the ears with the base resting on the back of my neck. I kinda like this style, seeing as in the summer, I'm a prissy bitch and my hair is always in shape. I hear reviews that the sound is swell and they stay on, though not as tightly as hoped during running, but I prefer the iPod for workout gear anyways... Check back in a week to see how much I hate or love these things, and how quick the A2DP kills the Shadow. Speaking of, I plan on picking up a spare battery for it... anyone know of a DIY spare battery charger tute?

Urban Treeson

05.16.2008 @ 12:22 PM in Lifestream
Treeson is a kind creature, brought up by trees in the forest. When foresters came to cut down his home, he tried to protect the trees, and a forester shoved a stick through his chest. He was found by a boy named Ren who walks with a little red wagon. Ren is sad because everybody ignores him. One day Ren stumbles across his grave and realizes that both he and Treeson are dead. Twisted no? Urban Treeson, well his story is a little different. Basically, when Treeson finds himself in the city... all the filth and pollution blacken him and make him very sad. Sometimes I collect Toys because I love the designer, and sometimes I collect toys because I love the background behind them.. Treeson is definitely the latter.

Double Snap! – Rolling on the bus

05.15.2008 @ 7:12 PM in Lifestream
Wow Griff, you get two for the price of one, just cause this bus ride is just so damn interesting.

I had caught a whiff of something familiar, and looking back, I noticed this fellow dumping out a philly and rolling his afterwork entertainment, or at least I think its afterwork...

I can haz Friday? No?

05.15.2008 @ 6:49 PM in Lifestream
Hey Griff! Thanks for the Snap! What kind of rich people plants do you sell? Or is it just clever wording for and upscale medical grade pot dealer?

Anyways, im on the bus per usual, and about to check in @ walden and bailey (read: the ghetto) so I can hopefully catch another bus to go home, where beer and Battlestar Gallactica await. I hope I was entertaining for at least a few minutes griff...

IKEA+Vinyl=Party Hutch

05.15.2008 @ 11:00 AM in Lifestream
IKEA can make some total crap. Sometimes you wonder what exactly goes through the heads of designers when they produce something like the HATTEN, which looks like an acrylic cake carrier flipped on end.  Despite the seemingly drug induced design choices IKEA spews out en masse, you can always be assured they'll have some wicked lighting to make up for it. I saw the DIODER (featured in the video above) series last year, when I went with Angel and his biz partner to shop for new store furnishings. We had picked up the disc lighting, hoping for a multicolored cosmic front display, only to realized upon getting home, that we had picked the plain lights instead. Norman took back and we forgot all about them. Fast forward to last weekend with John down in Maryland, when we took the mandatory sweep through IKEA looking for an ottoman suitable for John's new space. We saw the DIODER series again, this time in the form of adjustable light bars, brighter than the discs and a tad more expensive, but we thought the perfect solution for a faux ambient effect behind John's Hi-Def. He snagged the bars and I grabbed the discs, I wanted lighting for the vinyl hutch and these were perfect. However, as I never seem to learn from the past, the light bars turned out to be the plain boring white strips, though I managed to get the colored discs this time. John's still trying to find a solution for the overly bright bars of doom... Good luck trying to get these online, unless you want to pay nearly double from the .ca store and then extra on top to get it shipped from Canadia. Yes, Canadia... [gallery]
ps. IKEA is the only company I know that gives you too much cord with your lights... not that thats a bad thing...
