Snap! – Biggest Bandits Fan Evar

Or so he claims… His signed T-shirt does lend him some credibility though. This was a season opening with ceremony.. first, a moment to remember veteran sportswriter, Tom Borrelli, who passed away last November due to a tragic accident. Then, the Bandits got to drop the 2008 NLL championship banner. What came next seemed almost natural (although the 4th quarter was a little scary): they proceeded to whip their old enemies, the Philadelphia Wings, 15-11. #snap Im not a sportswriter, but Andy Kulyk is. Check out his post here when it goes live.. wnymedia.net/blogs/

Foodie Run – Guercio’s

01.03.2009 @ 1:29 PM in Lifestream

The absolute best fresh/import market is on Grant street. Rumored to have
contributed to Elvis’ downfall with sammiches, the deli has the best meats
and cheeses from all over. Then take a walk through the assorted dry import
goods aisles, and you’ll know why Guercio’s is a Buffalo treasure. #snap

but Tops carries Bitters, we finally settle in. #snap

Check out the Android Tricorder App. Uses the internal
sensors(compass, signal strength, accelerometer) to spit real data,
making this app at least 15% useful, but still 120% too nerdy for your
two friends to appreciate. #snap

GOT: Amanda Visell “Weatherbot” Giclee

01.02.2009 @ 11:19 AM in Culture
Amanda Visell Weatherbot

Amanda Visell Weatherbot

I’m about a week and a half late posting about this, but John gifted me this amazing new print from Amanda Visell for Christmas. Amanda Visell really pwned 2008 with her hop skip and a jump from painting -> wood -> resin -> vinyl. While a lot of artist do this, Amanda keeps her wood and brushstroke style congruent among all mediums.

“Weatherbot” is a winterscene, featuring a enormungo robot with the ability to control the skies. The townsfolk appear to be gathering around, Gulliver Travels style, in attempts to thwart the metal monstrosity. Limited, signed, and numbered at 50 prints, by Amanda Visell.

PS – Giclee is the stupidest name for any printed technique. it even pronounces lame: “zee-clay.” However it produces amazingly accurate prints.

Check out more of Amanda Visell at her site.

Its 2009…. 8 more hours to go.
