Hey Eli! Ben says you ain’t shit! See the mess back there? I told him you
could do it better! He said some mean thing abouts you! #snap!
Datamoshing is the technique of purposefully removing keyframes from videos so that compression artifacts appear. Its pretty uncontrollable unless you really get the science, but most of the time the outcome is pretty sweet.
While the Charlift Video for “Evident Utensil” was the first all-moshing-all-the-time music video, Kanye did his thing and made it “popular” with “Welcome to The Hearbreak…”

A lot of the visuals I throw at the club are glitchy and distorted… its my style, and i’ve ammassed a nice library of glips (glitchy clips). I don’t have anything datamoshed, but I’m starting to learn the technique so that I can use it at Marcella. The below is a first test of the technique… nothing purposed just a few clips moshed.
Kirk has a girlfriend, and while that’s all well and good… certain things
have happened which are inevitable for those in a new relationship… and
I’m just a little bit concerned.Who is this woman? Where did she come from and why is she taking kirk away
from us? She looks oddly familiar and my hackles are raised… #snap
Its good to see Hero finally getting some KidRobot love for being the awesomest toy shop in the WNY area. Coming tomorrow, Hero will have a stupid limited (can’t say, its so small) amount of 8″ Tree Huggr Dunny’s AWOL editions by Kronk for sale. No presales, no holds, no multiples, just be there at Noon, Thursday , April 9th at Hero (93 Allen St) with money ($75 bucks). These will not be available at Official KidRobot Stores, just loyal shops like Hero.

If you don’t live in the Buffalo, NY area, then check out these other places that the Kronk will show up at. Just remember, with 500 made, these will be gone fast.
It was bound to happen…. Starbucks VIA Ready Brew is coffee on the run. Just add hot water for “rich, flavorful Starbucks® coffee in an instant.” Maybe its just me, but I immediately wondered if VIA could be ingested like a BC powder. Well, duh, you can, but would you want to? here are the results…
Ever since I got the T-mobile G1, I’ve been chomping at the bit to get 3G service in the Buffalo area. While T-Mobile hasn’t waivered in their efforts to slowly but surely release 3G over their network, the Buffalo/WNY area has been left out… till now. Maybe.

The attached screenshot shows an internal email listing all sorts of places to marked “to light up 3G” in Q2-Q4 of this year. While Buffalo isn’t on the list, Rochester, NY and Cleveland, OH are scheduled to light up in Q3. Possibly service in Rochester will be enough to expand to Buffalo as well. This could all be fake, but I doubt it. Via TmoNews
Levi Engineered Jeans are celebrating their 10 year anniversary, and launched a new campaign called “The Twisted Originals,” via Neighbour Creative. They enlisted the help of Sculptor/Artist Wilfrid Wood to create three characters to match each one of the three fitting styles of Levis.

My absolute favorite is Hopper, the 29 year old ad exec who’s disabled but chose a bouncey ball as opposed to a wheel chair. With a plumber’s crack, stained white T-shirt, and ridiculous Lucha mask, Hopper’s the silly type of cub i’d feature on HBjD. His favorite style of Levi’s are Loose.

I can help but love the tubby guys, either in the real world or in toys… I bought Wilfrid Wood’s Coot last year, and I want Hopper to go along next to him.

Definitely check out the “Twisted Originals” blog, and the Mini Site; there is a ton more information about the characters and even a video with Wilfrid Wood talking about their creation.
Vinyl Pulse says that these figures will be produced in Hong Kong for Point of Sale displays, and we may possibly see them for consumer purchase on a mad stupid limited basis.
I think we all wanted one more snowday, something to kvetch about, stay in
doors, and tell our
Southern friends about. But for a place like Buffalo, even in April, a
dusting is merely an annoyance. I’m more particularily not thrilled about it
melting and being all mushy this week. I’m sure places like the Southtowns
and the ‘burbs got a little more but I doubt anything is shut down today.
