Shawnimal’s started as a simple college art project by Shawn Smith, and has since grown to be one of the leaders of designer plush. I think if it wasn’t for his innovations and pursuit of the felted medium, we wouldn’t have as much awesome plush on the hot charts as we do today. He’s also an incredible wordsmith, pummeling me in Lexulous on Facebook (90pts for Agility? who knew “qis” was a word? Shawn does). I have a few plushies, but my absolute favorite piece is his BUD custom… which I picked up last year at Hero and Sound’s custom show.

Shawn is on my my short list of artists I’d kill to meet/hang/stalk, and not just because he looks adorable. Check out the Vimby interview that was just posted; get a look at the workshop and people helping Shawnimals do what they do best: Rule.

One of my absolute favoritest thing on a guy is a nice set of calves. It
doesn’t matter how perfect yer belly is, if you have chicken legs you won’t
cut it. I want tree trunks in the air, not bean poles…

*gasp! I noticed that the camera snap sound has been forced on by Android
1.5 on the G1. I’m sure this has to do with it heading into the Asian
Market, where they have serious issues with girls getting snapped up the
skirt without them knowing. I understand I’m doing sorta the same thing, but
damn… #snap

E’ryonce in a while we get an itch to play old school and its in the form of
Disco Night. All the twinks bitch cause they don’t hear beyonce or Flo Rida
and we revel in their pain… Disco is best heard in a big club… #snap

Randall came a calling for me to come out, and so Roxy’s it was this
evening… and it happens to be Stripteasers night too! Double WIN! They’l
be performing later tonight. And though its reall too dark for a proper
video or photo, I give you an shutter lapse abstract representation of the
night… #snap

I normally get out at 6 or 3:30… means I get home at 5 or 7. I used to get
home at 5:20pm for a year, and this was the group of people that I piled in
with… its nice to visit every now and then… same bustle of people…
never knew their names… just pushed past them or sat next to… #snap

Hanging out at Daemen college, with the group ready to block out the
protests of Westboro Baptist Church with a silent wall of white. Jay and I
are here to document… #snap. The protest is for the Laramie Project,
opening at Daemen tonight… Westboro says we’re all gonna eat our babies or
something…

This kid is a freaking natural. He’s totally goofy, and no doubt his hipster brother is teaching him how to be whitecrunk… but for a little ginger, he’s got a hell of a lot of rhythm. Song is Boom Boom Pow, but the Black Eyed Peas, who just might have an album that doesn’t suck.

Just had some AMAZING sushi over at Kuni’s with Jay. I had never been to
Kuni’s because i always thought it was a to go lunch place… well its back
as a hot joint for dinner ( dont know how long, maybe a while) and its
amazing… #snap

Hanging out and completely covered in glitter! God these cars are huge, but
