Oh Tony. Last night's SYTYCD showcased the first performances from the top 20. Buffalo's own Tony Bellissimo was paired up with Paris, and performed a Hip-Hop number choreographed by the amazingly talented Tabitha and Napoleon. Tony seemed cocky and ready to show off (see his above "stink face"). But did he? Tony did not shine at all in his first performance, and it was Hip-Hop! He hit the moves, stayed on beat, but there just wasn't enough power or personality, and personality was all he had to stand out on. to quote Nigel, "I don't want you to think you can get by by being the cute guy on the show... your stank stank." Ouch. I hope he learns his lesson and puts some serious work into being a contestant or this wont be a Bellissimo fan blog for long...

The folks at Brightkite updated their Android app to beta 1.2, and in Android-esque fashion, published the link to the binaries in a QR code, that you can scan here. Here's what's new:

• "I am...": Fixed crashes when location providers unavailable
• "I am...": If location provider is unavailable, prompts the user to open location preferences by tapping the "I am..." cartouche
• "I am...": If location is available, tapping the "I am..." cartouche now goes to that place's detail
• [Cupcake only] Post Photo: fixed issue where holding down the camera button would take multiple pictures
• [Cupcake only] Post Photo: added Autofocus for both camera button and trackball. Half-pressing camera button shouldfocus, full press should take photo. Pressing the trackball will focus, releasing trackball should take photo.
• [Cupcake only] Post Photo: Photos should preserve the orientation in which they were taken (already worked pre-cupcake)

PicSay, a photo manipulation app, was one of the original applications created for the Android platform. It even won the developers (ShinyCore) $275,000 during the First Android Developers Challenge. Originally available on the market for free, a new "Pro" edition of PicSay has recently been uploaded to the Android Market for only €1.99. The recently disillusioned iPhone-toting bf remarked to me that the iPhone App Store doesn't have anything nearly that functional for less than $10 dollars. While the free version is a delight to use, Picsay Pro comes with more, well, everything... First off, there are quite a few new effects to choose from, like "cross process" and duotone, lens filter and matte. You can even paint on your pictures and mask off effects with ease.

The neatest feature I saw was to be able to insert a cutout of another photo into your masterpiece. The tools are very easy to use, despite having only finger controls. Multi step effects have instructions to help you get it right.

Double tap on an area to zoom in for fine control, and various brush sizes let you get a clean edge on your cutout.

When your cutout is complete you can save it to use again in another PicSay photo. Picsay pro also comes with more props and text effects, and the ability to save at the maximum resolution (1024x768) and even geotag you photos (if they weren't already).

If I had a ratings system, I'd give it five stars. You can't beat this for under 3 bucks (US conversion = ~$2.80).

Röyksopp + Robyn + Robots = a pretty slick music video for "The Girl And The Robot." I really love Robyn's voice, and even though her hair makes me giggle, her performance in front of a camera (or stage) rules. "The Girl And the Robot" is the second single from their latest Album "Junior," and the EP holds several remixes from the likes of Ocelot, Joakim, Jean Elan, Kris Menace, and Spencer & Hill. The US release for "The Girl And The Robot" is June 16th, do it.

CrazyLabel is responsible for some of the cutest vinyl pieces in my collection. The Treeson story is pretty awesome, and the characters are simply endearing. This is the first time the whole gang has been made available... as a blind box set. We probably wont see these stateside till Fall 09, but I can't wait!!! I want the whole set.

So Burger King has this new meal called the Angry Whopper. Its a whopper with pepperjack cheese, bacon, jalepenos, onion rings, and bbq sauce.Whoppers are meh and sometimes I just can't handle fast food beef, so I made my own big bite of awesome today for lunch. Just order a tendercrisp made like the angry whopper. You'll pay a premium for this (equals 1.50 more for the conversion) but when you see all this garbage crammed between those two buns, you'll feel better there is something marginally healthy wedged in there. Oh, and it tastes awesome. #snap

Its gay pride weekend in Buffalo, and I'm up early to set up the stinking float for Marcellas... the route is a little fucked up this year, starting at Summer instead of North.... more soon. #snap

First off, the Mash Bash was nothing like it was last year (or the years before). The budget was severely hacked this go around and it showed. For 50 dollars, you get in with only 2 drink tickets. Sure, you can eat all the pizza, sausage dogs, and hot dogs in the world, but taking away the free beer just isn't right. Things were different... there wasn't the crazy rush for beer, the lines and frat boys (ok, me too) running with six cups of tepid Labatts every fifteen minutes... The food was the same. Greasy suburban pizza, but some incredible sausage dogs. And since I wasn't running back and forth for beer like a crazy person, Jay and I actually stuck around for some of the Lance Diamond Show.  This was the first time I had seen (or paid attention to) Lance Diamond perform, and I actually dug it a little. He's a performer, and a dirty dirty dirty man. Taking it all in, Lane Diamond is a sight to see. From a bedazzled coat to his creepy snake tongue wiggle, he reminds me of a fat old Rick James 2.0. The Mash Bash is a great time to dress up in camo and make a darn fool of yourself. And where else can a comfortably straight man dress like this: And where else besides the bedroom or a cheap basement set can you don a Navy Uniform with your anchors hanging out: Mash Bash is a time to spend with loved ones, like my awesome boyfriend Jay: and to get molested by Angel: Some couples looked cute, in their matching drab and boots: This couple was doing it wrong: And half of this couple wanted to be anywhere but with her husband: I have almost a hundred pictures from the Bash 09 on flickr.
