Matt Groening teams up once again with Kidrobot to release his less mainstream, but just as awesome, Futurama characters in to vinyl. 12 three inch characters, two blindboxes, $8.99 (or something like that) at Hero Design studio and other Kidrobot retailers. Like right now. Mark and Beth totally let me get in after hours and get a peak at em, and I scooped up a few to start a collection I plan on finishing. I was really waiting for this series, well that and the new series of Futurama on Fox.... can't wait for that either.

OK, maybe not so gingham.. close, but its a nice new shirt. Picked it up from Angel as Sai One the other day (818 Elmwood ave in Buffalo), and wore it right out the store. Anyways.. posting fell short the last week or so... I apologize, the macbook getting replaced gave me an unexpected vacation from the internet and I got a little lazy. back into the game this week... #snap

Major Lazer just dropped the official video for "Pon de Floor," tapping into the dancehall world for dancers. A tad bit NSFW, this video features a particular style of dancehall that involves grinding the absolute fuck out of your partner. It's a bit absurd, as is the rest of the video, but pretty visual nonetheless. (via - Pitchfork TV) Edit - via nuffin. the video on Pitchfork TV was removed, but it dropped again yesterday on Vimeo.. where I found out it was directed by Eric Wareheim, of Tim & Eric Fame... werd.

I'm a little under resourced at the moment; the Macbook pro seems to be having some Logic Board troubles. Took her to the Apple Store Friday when my screen went white, and listened to a Genius tell me it was a hard drive issue... I explained to him it boots, just can't see anything. The "Genius" then blamed it on the display, and ordered me a new one. I still insisted it was the logic board, but seeing as there were backlight tears (from skylar sleeping on the macbook) that weren't covered... I didn't mind the clamshell replacement. I have a new display and it still doesn't work. And what do you know... it was the logic board. I should be all restored and repaired by Wednesday; glad I was able to get all this done before the one year. I might not have to spring for Apple Care so soon after all. The one downside was I lost all my stickers... the Obama sticker from when I was doing election coverage with WNYMedia, a few MISHKA stickers, a photo of Scranto and I ( never took it off after we broke up)... and some random pogo prints... I'm not sure I'm gonna put stickers on it again. We'll see. #snap

Sometimes Friday nights clear out early, leaving off-duty employees, tricks of said employees, and the half dozen messes that won't scatter till the lights come on. Around that time Marcellas ceases to be a top 40 dance house club, and turns a little bit ravey for the face eaters... #snap

I'm actually pretty adjusted to the stagnant, muggy, 80+ degree Summer climate in my lab... but I try to bitch just enough so people know it really isn't cool for me to be holed up like this. #snap

keeps the prostate at bay? Pomegranates always confused me. Growing up, I'd go through the grocery store with my parents and point to the red grenade looking fruit and beg mom to pick up a few. I loved fresh fruit as a kid (and as an adult), so one day Mom conceded and the next morning my sister and I cracked one open. While they were tasty, my ADHD won over every time. A pomegranate is essentially a seed pod, with each seed surrounded by a bit of juicy flesh. More seeds than anything else, I got as far as sorting the seeds out before I gave up and pawned it off to my meticulous sister. That was about it for my pomegranate experiences... Until about a month ago, when a representative from POM Wonderful offered me a case of POM juice to try out. 8oz of 100% pomegranate juice, that take about a minute to consume (ADHD friendly!) and is packed with antioxidants, which we all know help fight diseases, like prostate cancer (guys, have you had a PSA test lately?). More than anything, pomegranates are packed with antioxidants, which work to seek out and neutralize free radicals inside your body. Free radicals are little molecules on the fritz, unstable atoms that can cause havoc to your body, leading to a greater chance for diseases like cancer. You can't escape free radicals, they get in from anywhere (food, drink, city life, farm life, chemicals), but you can be on the offensive. Pomegranates are grenades, packed with little bits of fruit-seed shrapnel called arils. If you have slightly more patience then I do, this is the best method I found for separating the the fruit for mixing with cereal, ice cream, or just enjoying as a crunchy (if you eat the seeds), juicy snack... Then again, you can just drink the juice. POM Wonderful juice is a bit on the pricey side, ~$20 for an 8-pack of 8oz bottles, but its the only source I know for 100% pomegranate (I love cranberry juice too, another source of antioxidants, but i can never find it 100% cranberry, always mixed with apple or pear juice). Beirendock has incorporated logos and trademarks from companies all over the world, using them as fashionable elements.  This is some serious cut and sew, fellas. The looks are out there but somehow they just fit on the burly bodies that walked down the catwalk... or is it a bearwalk?
