Kingdom of the unreal but also a higher state of being, ultimately free of the limitations of the material world through the agency of science, technology, and imagination.

This video is a near perfect idea, executed with perfection. check out www.neurosonicsaudiomedical.com for more info and credits

MMM… Beans.

Jelly Belly

I have not been into these 30 (now 40 i hear?) wacky and ridiculous flavors in ages. I really really hate licorice though. My dad called them “deer turds” and I never liked it from there. #snap

The Reverand wore Converse

The Reverand wore Converse

Sare is on vacation and Huw is preaching in her absense; I attended for
moral support. This was the first time I’ve been to church in years, and my
first time ever in an Episcopal Church. What a friendly lot the 12
parishioners were, and Huw gets points for intentionally injecting "ya’ll"
into The Word. Feel like down South, just with kneeling benches and less
judgement. #snap

Cheated death, but I guess they really wanted him. Bummer, you’ll be missed like whoa.

Hot Bear du Jour: Even at the Zoo

Buffalo Zoo 51

Went to the Buffalo Zoo the other day with my work group, and just happened upon this healthy specimen of a bear. This shot is totally candid and even though I stalked him a bit with the Nikon I don’t think I disrupted his natural lumber throughout the exhibit. #snap

Android myTouch Commercial features odd celebrity appearances

08.26.2009 @ 1:02 PM in Technology

whoopi

While I’m all for celebrity appearances to help boost Android’s appeal, I’m not so sure that Whoopi Goldberg, Jesse James, and Phil Jackson were the right choice. Then again, if one wanted to emphasize Android’s unique ability to be customized from one extreme to the other, then I guess picking polar opposites for spokespeople was a good choice. T-Mobile’s pitch for their 2nd Android device (but 1st fully consumer friendly Android offering) is that the myTouch can be 100% you. With pre-installed home screen customization, and enough accessories to rival the Razr, it looks like the myTouch could be a popular device. I’ve been sincerely tempted to purchase one to replace the G1, but I’m clinging to the last shreds of common sense that tell me to wait for Christmas.

*and for those of you clueless like I am, Phil Jackson is the coach for the Lakers.

check out the mini site for the myTouch.

Behold, the Vagina Monster.

08.26.2009 @ 12:10 PM in Culture

The following post features art that is of an intentionally obscene nature, though not for obscenity’s sake. Therefore, the meat, of this post is hidden behind the break.

Carlos-Enriquez-Gonzalez01

Last October, I read on the Mishka Bloglin about Carlos Enriquez-Gonzalez, a Venezuelan contemporary artist, who makes these fantastic fiberglass kaiju-esque creatures.

Carlos-Enriquez-Gonzalez02

Around that time, he revealed a creature so magnificent, he knew the only way to full realize it was to craft it again, and make it 9 feet tall. That creature, recently unveiled this month, was the Vagina Lips Monster…

Lake Monsters Big Muscamoot: “Lake Erie Custom”

08.25.2009 @ 12:23 PM in Culture

DSC_8900I’ve always wanted to paint a kaiju. I think the airbrushed style of Eastern vinyl is just tops, and I wanted a stab at my own. I decided my first foray would be on this marvelous new figure from the Lake Monsters Series, Chris Ryniak’s Big Muscamoot.

Since the story goes that these monsters hail from the Great Lakes, I figured my custom would have to be from Lake Erie. colors were easy to decide, but I haven’t airbrushed since I was making Star Wars and El Camino models as a kid with my dad. I even dragged out the old airbrush kit that I used almost 10 years ago. I think it went pretty well, but I may invest in a decent-er airbrush, any suggestions on a good model? I hear Badger is pretty good.

I’ll have more pics up on the flickr soon.
